Its core purpose is to help support equity for communities facing significant environmental justice threats and to strengthen equity for the Inupiat.

Grandmothers Growing Goodness is committed to intergenerational equity and is focused on empowering youth to become the next generation of leaders on Alaska’s North Slope.

Dr. Rosemary Ahtuangaruak

Dr. Rosemary Ahtuangaruak is founder and executive director of Grandmothers Growing Goodness. She was a community health aide from Nuiqsut, Alaska who has held a variety of local leadership positions and is an advocate of community rights in light of the oil development occurring in close proximity to her village.
